Would You Rather: Ireland or Iceland?

My husband and I are trying to plan a trip for this summer.  We're hoping we can cash in accrued miles for a destination in Europe.  Right now, two of our top contenders are Ireland and Iceland.  Two vastly different countries, both packed with enticing scenery, rich culture, and beautiful sights.  So, out of curiosity, I thought I'd ask y'all...would YOU rather go to Ireland OR Iceland?

Ireland

 Iceland
So which is it?  Would you rather go to Ireland or Iceland?
(Or if you're anything like me BOTH!)

I've always wanted to go to Ireland so that would be my #1 choice.

Both sound absolutely amazing. I've always wanted to go to Ireland-- bike riding in the country side! Sounds fab.

Ireland. Iceland would be beautiful for a weekend...can you not stop off there and spend more time in Ireland...makes sense to me.

both are so beautiful but I'd definitely go with Iceland!

I don't know if you can see them in Ireland but I know you can see the northern lights in Iceland!

I went to Iceland on a trip back from Denmark a few years ago. The airline let us lay over for free...I think it was a tourism agreement they had with Iceland. Maybe you can do both!

I've been to Ireland and absolutely loved it. It's definitely worth visiting at least once in your life. But I've wanted to go to Iceland for a long time! So if I had to choose right now, I'd say Iceland.

One of my really good friends went to Iceland for her honeymoon, and they LOVED it! I think it's nice because you can see a lot of different things in a relatively short period of time. Also, they run pretty good deals to Iceland; you might be able to get a good deal and save up for another trip (to Ireland!). :)

I have never been to Iceland, but I have been to Ireland and it was an emerald paradise! Just beautiful!!! Maybe Ireland this year and Iceland next? ( :

But are stunning, but... I say Ireland. Iceland is VERY small, and depending on how long you're going for, there's not a while lot to do, other that the Lagoon.

I'd obviously love to visit both, but Ireland has been in my "top 5" list of places I want to visit next for quite a while. I want to drive around the country, stop at pubs, stay in old inns, talk to locals, kiss stones and tour castles...

Ireland all the way! My husband and I both studied abroad there and absolutely fell in love with it. It's impossible not to!

My parents just stopped over in Iceland on their way back from Paris! They said the Blue Lagoon was really a neat experience!

I've been to both and they are both absolutely amazing! If you have 10+ days for vacation, I would honestly try for both! Maybe 4 days in Iceland and the rest in Ireland? In Iceland, you have to see Gulfoss, glaciers, geysers, black sand beach, ride Icelandic ponies (they are a special breed!), and the Blue Lagoon. I'm sure you know what all to see in Ireland :) Have fun planning!

This is a hard question for me. I have wanted to go to both for a long time. However, I think I would choose Iceland and THEN Ireland. Iceland is just a little more exotic.

Both! But I've been to Iceland, so I'd pick Iceland! Try flying IcelandAir (they have free layovers for up to 7 days) and then you really could do both!

I'd pick Iceland because of the hot springs.

Tough choice! I'd say Ireland though.

I've been to both and for me... definitely, Iceland! Different to everything else and so beautiful if you like nature.

Went to Iceland in Feb and going to Ireland in a week! From my experience of going to Iceland and everything I've read about Ireland it depends on what you want to see. If you want nature beauty I don't think Iceland can be beat. but if you want a little history mixed in with the beauty Ireland is probably the best choice. If you do go to Iceland make sure to hitup the Blue Lagoon, 3.5 hrs there wasn't enough for us and we almost we're late to our plane since it was the last thing we did.
